Tylynn Preston

Asst. Dir. Intervention - Bronx

Tylynn Preston is the Assistant Director of Intervention in the Bronx. Tylynn is a Licensed Master Social Worker in Texas and New York state. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, a hometown that makes up of only 6% of Black people, Tylynn recognized at an early age the impact of racial disparities on one’s mental health and quality of life for BIPOC individuals. 

Prior to joining Common Justice, Tylynn served in leadership at the Center to Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services in the Manhattan Pretrial Services program. She has more than 10 years of experience providing counseling, program development, and leadership in community and institutional settings. Tylynn has worked to be a changemaker in social service practices by focusing on trauma-informed treatment and uplifting the voices of those with lived experience to develop policy and inform the delivery of services. Additionally, Tylynn is a psychotherapist in private practice where she specializes in racial & intergenerational trauma in women of color.  

Tylynn holds a B.S. from Portland State University and a M.S.W. from New York University.
