For the past three years, Common Justice has worked with its extraordinary partners to host a conference called Paving the Way to Healing and Recovery for Young Men of Color. Last year’s theme was “Revolutionary Healing” and focused on innovative healing practices for young men of color who have been harmed by violence.
At this conference, the exploration of promising practices lifts up the experience not only of some of the larger nonprofits working in this area, but equally, the voices of grassroots organizations, experienced practitioners, and crucially, the young men themselves. While we undoubtedly acknowledge the enormous and grave extent of the violence young men face, we focus our attention on promising strategies that work for young men of color who have survived violence so that we leave with concrete tools and deeper hope.
Stay tuned for this year’s conference date coming soon.
